Newsletters

Blocks that know what a book is.

General email tools give you a picture and a button and leave the rest to you. Penomaly's composer is built around books: yours, from your own library, and other authors', for the swaps and promos every newsletter carries.

The Penomaly newsletter editor. On the left, a Mentions block with three other authors’ books, a books-per-row setting and a Match heights button. On the right, the live preview showing the three covers in a row and two group promotion graphics below them.

The book blocks

The same blocks build your emails and your signup pages, so a book looks the same wherever a reader meets it.

  • Solo / Feature

One book with its cover, blurb and buy buttons. Pick your own book and it is read from your library when the email goes out, so a corrected link is correct everywhere. Choose which retailers to show, rename the button, rewrite the blurb for this email, and lay it out side by side or stacked.

  • Your books, side by side

A series or a backlist in a grid of two or three columns, pulled from your library. Adding book four later does not change an email you already built.

  • Mentions

One to three books, yours or other authors’, each with its own cover size. Made for the short mentions that fill a swap-heavy newsletter.

  • Group promo

The promo graphics a group promotion hands you, laid out cleanly with a size for each and no captions to tidy up.

Alongside them: text, headings, buttons, buttons side by side, images, social links, dividers, spacing, and a share link readers can pass on once the email has gone out. Amazon Associates turn on one switch, and every Amazon link is marked "(paid link)" with the Associate disclosure added for you.

A book library, filled in once

Every book you add keeps its title, series and number, genre, description, cover, ASIN or ISBN, Kindle Unlimited or wide, and publication date.

  • Every retailer link

Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, BookFunnel, your own site, or anything else. Each block shows the ones you choose.

  • Writing as more than one name?

Give each pen name its own Penomaly account, with its own readers, sending domain, look and unsubscribe list. A romance reader never gets your thriller email by mistake.

Your brand, saved once

Set your colours, font and content width in one place. Every unsent draft and every signup page follows when you change them. Emails already sent stay exactly as they went out.

  • Templates of your own

Save any email as a template and start the next one from it. Most author newsletters follow a shape; keep yours.

  • Social links

Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Bluesky, TikTok, YouTube, Goodreads and many more, saved per pen name and dropped in as one block.

Sending and what happens after

  • Test, schedule, send

Send a test to yourself, schedule in your own time zone or send now. You can send to a random 10, 25 or 50 percent of a list first. A plain-text version is made for every email.

  • Personal where it helps

First name, last name and your own custom fields, with a fallback for readers you know less about. You are warned before sending if a tag has none.

  • Your own sending domain

On a paid plan, a step-by-step wizard sets up your domain so your newsletter comes from you.

  • Reports you can read

Delivered, opens, clicks, bounces and complaints, a table of every link, and a reader-by-reader list you can filter by who opened, who clicked and who did not.

  • A web version to share

Every sent email has a public web version with nothing personal in it, ready to send a swap partner or post anywhere.

A campaign report: recipients, readers reached, open rate, click rate, bounces and complaints, then a table of every link with readers and clicks. The Amazon link is marked not tracked.
